Asia's first OQAS at i Love Eye Center

i Love Eye Center introduced OQAS (Ocular Quality Analysis System) that objectively measures estimated visual acuity after surgery during preoperative scan. The clinic is also selected as OQAS R&D Head Center.

The OQAS system is approved by FDA, CE, KFDA for its safety and performance. This is the only system available in the world that accurately measures light blurring and refraction rate in numeric value, thus allowing ophthalmologist to estimate maximum visual acuity after surgery.

i Love Eye Center is the only clinic with OQAS in Asia!

Advantages of OQAS
1. Ability to measure patient’s visual acuity in numeric value instead of relying on subjective answers of a patient.
2. Its safety approved by FDA, CE, KFDA.
3. Ability to analyze the quality of visual acuity after presbyopia correction surgery.
4. Ability to analyze the degree of cataract progression.
5. Ability to check light blurring phenomenon through simulation prior to surgery.
6. Ability to measure the maximum visual acuity one can gain after surgery.

Protect your eyes after vision correction surgery

Sultry heat is back with summer. The weather forecast says that this summer will be hotter and more humid than usual years. People are heading to mountains and beaches to avoid sweltering heat. In this season of outdoor activities, germs easily spread due to frequent contact with other people, high temperature and humidity, thus requiring special care. Since human eyes, in particular, are more sensitive than other bodily parts and also exposed to the external environment, they are prone to bacterial infection and disease.
One of common eye diseases occurring in summer is epidemic conjunctivitis a.k.a. pink eye. It is highly contagious, and the symptoms include redness, irritation, watering of the eyes. In severe cases, the lymph glands in front of the ears and under the jaw swell and hurt.

If these symptoms occur, one should rest his/her eyes, use an antibiotic eye drop, and see an ophthalmologist to prevent complications. As epidemic conjunctivitis is infected through hands, one should often wash hands with soap not to infect family members and other people. As more frequent contact translates into higher chances of infection, one should avoid going to crowded places.

If you receive a vision correction surgery like LASIK, you should be especially careful not to catch epidemic conjunctivitis and other infections. If such happens within two months – the time required stabilizing your vision after the surgery, it may be difficult to heal your eyes from the disease. As such, use of swimming pools, public baths, and outdoor activities should be resumed two months after the surgery.

Another harmful factor in summer is ultraviolet rays. If your eyes are exposed to direct and strong sunlight for a long period of time, the UV rays can damage the cornea, which may lead to cataract and macular degeneration in severe cases. Corneal opacity may also occur as a side effect if one’s eyes are exposed to UV rays after the vision correction surgery. In that case, one should stay indoors or wear sunglasses to block UV rays.

Il-Kook Song had LASIK surgery at i Love Eye Center

Il-Kook Song, TV actor
Obtained a glitter of charisma after LASIK!

Before R)Myopia-3.45 Astigmatism-0.5
          L)Myopia-4.25 Astigmatism-0.7
After   R/L) 1.2

Bad eyesight is a handicap for an actor. If the condition of the eye is bad, it disturbs concentration on the action. when I feel bad with my eye condition, it is really hard to concentrate and act as the character. Of course eyesight is precious for everyone, but for actors, the eye is one of the biggest tools for acting. When expressing delicate emotions, the eye takes the most significant part, more than the words themselves or any gesture. Also if I wear contact lens when I do martial arts or filming outside, the lens itself is disturbing and sometimes I've even lost one. Also the lenses cause lots of eye diseases. Wearing lenses always ends in disaster. Now I recall those times and think - How pathetic my eyes were. Finally I have decided to have a surgery and consulted with others who have already had the surgery, and they all recommended i Love Eye Center, so I visited there. Before I decided, I consulted with others who already experienced it and I became confident that it is safe. One of the big reasons that I could perform so well was because of the LASIK surgery. I'd like to say thanks to the staff of i Love Eye Center, who helped me get my eyesight back. I promise that I will do my best and be an even better actor. Thank you.
