Gallery tour in Bukchon hanok alleys

This neighborhood still has many traditional style tile-roof houses. The members of the royal family and aristocrats used to flock here during the Joseon Dynasty. Bukchon spanning over Gahoe-dong and Samcheong-dong is home to many guesthouses where foreigners can stay in traditional hanok buildings. It is also one of the neighborhoods in Seoul favored by foreigners. Bukchon is often featured in movies and TV dramas thanks to its special scenes. The alleys around lot No. 31 in Cahoe-dong are lined with hanok making a great background for photo shooting. The alleys covered by joining hanok roofs and downtown Seoul, seen from the top of the hill, make a spectacular scene. The Sanggojae hanok, the set to the drama Personal Taste starring Minho Lee and Yejin Son, is also here but under a different name, Yeorangje.

Bukchon also has many ateliers and museums where you can experience traditional culture. A Bukchon Museum Pass is sold at KRW 10,000 that allows admission to ficve museums: Museum of Korean Art, Han Sangsoo Embroidery Museum, Gahoe Folk Painting Museum, Dongnim Traditional Knot Museum, and Seoul Museum of Chicken Art.
